2/10/92 — Our NICU Journey Day 86

February 10, 2011

Isaac — 911 grams

Molly — 1249 grams

Our girl is getting big, looking like a real baby. Tune in tomorrow and the next day for my two favorite ISCU pictures.

Isaac

Isaac, my friend, they are taking out your PCVC today — the last vestige of your illness. They swore to me that they wouldn’t take it out until you left for college. They are also stopping the Albuterol treatments today. Dr. Ferrell says she has confidence in you that you will do fine without it. Daddy wrote: “Ike was watching Dad and a big smile was on Ike’s face for a long while.”

Molly

I was here much too late last night, until 2:30 in the morning, but they let me hold you almost every day now and it is just so hard to put you down. It looks like you lost 13 grams last night, but they weighed you when you were bare naked — no leads, no cannula, no nothing. You were naked because they gave you a bath, real bath in a little tub. Bethany said you loved it and that maybe I could do it next time. I love you, my big girl.
