3/4/92 — Our NICU Journey Day 109

March 4, 2011

Isaac — 1349 grams

Molly — 1679 grams

We took a lot of pictures on Molly's "going home" day, so I'm going to start posting them now. Our goodbyes were joyous, but bittersweet because Isaac wasn't going home with us. When the nurses started talking about sending us home, I didn't really believe them. They told Kenn they were pretty sure it was going to happen soon. One of them told me later that he started to get panicky and said: "I have to go. I have to paint. I promised Susan the nursery would be done and I have to paint."

You are such a big boy. Not too much news today, other than that you are laying in your crib with your eyes wide open, looking all around. And you are not eating well. Shape up.

As of yesterday, you were off all your meds. Now all you get is vitamins and some iron. We are busy getting ready to bring you home. Daddy is painting up a storm and I’m talking to all the nurses about what we have to know to take you home. We have lots to do, but we’ll be ready.
