3/27/92 — Our NICU Journey Day 132 (FINAL DAY)

March 27, 2011

Isaac — Home

Molly — 1980 grams

Here's little Isaac, home at last, sound asleep in his too-big sweater, in his too-big car seat, resting comfortably on his brand new periwinkle carpeting. Later this day, we would bring Molly home from the ISCU (NICU), and it would be over. Our NICU journey had finally come to an almost sudden, abrupt ending after 132 days. But of course, this is just the beginning. Stay tuned.

Home nursing notes:

Isaac a good day today. No apneic episodes. The bradycardia alarm sounded once during a feeding, but RR remained the same. No color change in skin, lips or nail beds. He did not need any stimulation. He has had watery like stools all day. Parents noticed. They plan to notify physician. Ant. fontanelle is soft and flat. Have a great shift. — Alisa

WELCOME HOME BABIES! What a journey. Thanks Susan for letting us in for a peek. 132 days! That’s astounding.
