3/31/92 — Preemies at Home, Day 4

March 31, 2011

Daddy and his two girls — and a lot of ducks on the wallpaper. It's so interesting to read the nurses notes, their odd mix of specifics about feeding and bodily functions, coupled with their personal observations. At this point, we had nursing for eight hours a day, almost always from midnight to 8 a.m., so we could get some sleep and I could run to the grocery early in the morning. I was literally tied to the house the rest of the time, except for doctors' appointments.

Home nursing notes:

Molly had a good night. Only woke two times to eat and then went back to sleep. Took 190 ccs total.

Ike — a restless sleeper. Took 105 ccs PO total. Ate every two hours. Had two loose diarrhea-like stools. Loves to be held, even when he’s fed and ready to sleep. No apnea or brady alarms today. There are beautiful babes! Have a good day. — KB
