5/3/92 (Day 169) — Children’s Memorial Day 21

May 3, 2011

I kind of love this picture — one of series we took just before Molly went to Children's for her heart surgery. She had now spent three weeks there and we were excited at the prospect of bringing her home tomorrow. These three weeks felt so much longer than the more than four months at Evanston. Each day was more oppressive than the next and we just couldn't wait to have our family home together again. I guess that old saying about not missing what you never had is true. Once we had a little taste of them both at home, it was so much harder to be separated.

Home nursing notes:

We need to check with Dr. Lum to see if Ike still needs Fer-in-Sol. Dad said it should have been d/c’d, but I don’t see an order. I wouldn’t think he should need it with 24 calorie formula, but we should check. Thanks. — Jeanette

I see why you like it. Those big eyes looking somewhat amazed. Their little tiny heads with the tubes in them doesn’t diminish their adorableness. The seem alert and healthy. What’s not to like?

This was the day the girls were born! Just putting it in relation to your journey. A couple of cuties in the picture that’s for sure.

Happy birthday to the Prang twins! We have come a long, long way since those days. Hearty babies — heartier moms.
