1/30/92 — Our NICU Journey Day 75

January 30, 2011

Isaac — not weighed

Molly — 1047 grams

Here's the other half of the nursery in all its glory, including new window treatments (three sides of the room were windows, making it light and lovely). It was a tiny room, but then again, they were tiny babies. Just one crib at first (don't worry, they both came home, but shared a crib for a while). Still MIA: both babies, but they were getting healthier, if not much bigger yet.

Isaac

You couldn’t wait, could you? You went ahead and pulled out your ET tube last night. And you are doing great!  You are under your little oxygen tent again [and would have mask C-PAP until the first week of February]. And guess what? I got to hold you today — in my arms. It was wonderful. You are so tiny and warm and beautiful. I love to look at your little mouth. You have such an expressive face. You raise your eyebrows, or scrunch your forehead, or open your eyes really wide and look all around. Such a cute guy.

Molly

You lost weight, Molly. We’re not too happy about that. They will check your thyroid today and see how it is, but Fred doesn’t think that’s an issue. Jill says we can hold you today, but I’ll let Daddy do that. They are keeping your Os up a little bit so you saturate higher and maybe keep your heart rate down.
