1/13/92 — Our NICU Journey Day 58

January 13, 2011

Isaac — not taken (very sick)

Molly — 850 grams (with no arm boards)

"Look, Mama, I'm so big!" Our Miss Molly really was starting to look big — but probably only to us. When my parents would call for the daily updates, I would say things like: "She's huge — she gained 11 grams." He would chuckle and say, "Yeah, she's huge. Not two pounds yet, but she's huge."

Isaac

More of the same today, pal. You are getting your treatment every four hours. They have to bag you a lot to get you back up. Your pressures are very high and you are back on 100 percent oxygen, but you need all this help to keep your sats up. Please start to feel better soon. I love you. I’m here for you.

Molly

You are gaining weight more steadily now (up to 850 grams with no arm boards). You are inching up to that big two-pound mark, just 54 more grams to go. I bet you get there this week. You keep stretching your hands over your head saying, “Look, Mama, I’m so big.” And you do look bigger to me there in your isolette, but when we took you out for me to hold you the other night, you still looked pretty little. You got kind of lost in all the blankets. So you have to keep growing, girl.

She DOES look huge! I have a picture of Allison in a similar pose and it is one of my favorites of her ‘premie-hood’!
